As a dialect of my visual language, I create little guys — small sculptural and drawn figures that introduce humor and play into the serious realities of my anxiety, depression, and cognitive challenges. Part self-portrait, part fictional character, they exist in a liminal space of physical and emotional uncertainty. Their simplified forms and individual presentations emerge out of my neurological conditions, speaking to my physical limitations and difficulties with spatial reasoning. Through their rapid and repeated spawning, I question and explore complex feelings around neurodiversity, emotional vulnerability, and childhood trauma.
